ComponentOne DataObjects for .NET (C1DataObjects) is a comprehensive framework for creating database applications. It is integrated with other components of ComponentOne Studio for .NET to provide you with all the necessary tools for application development.

ComponentOne DataObjects includes two editions to provide you with a choice of tools to best suits your needs: ComponentOne DataObjects Enterprise for .NET (referred to as C1DataObjects) and ComponentOne DataObjects Express for .NET (referred to as C1DataExpress). The main differences between the two editions are in their design-time interfaces and in the level of required user expertise.

C1DataExpress and C1DataObjects Enterprise Edition are not mutually-exclusive, they can even be used together in the same application. They have common runtime core functionality and object model. The difference is primarily in design time: developers use a special Schema Designer in C1DataObjects whereas C1DataExpress is a suite of three simple components with built-in design-time support.
