This component supports all types of VB windows - sizable, dialog or tool windows (the BorderStyle property in VB) and takes into account the visibility of the Minimize, Maximize and What's This buttons; it can be used in MDI parent and child windows; it even supports Windows XP styled borders of windows!

Each caption icon can have its own tooltip that displays tip text and optionally title and icon; you can also adjust such common tooltips parameters as style (balloon or standard rectangular), visible and delay time.

A window's caption text can be drawn by CaptionX or by the developer (this feature is also known as custom drawing); in the last case you can draw your own formatted text using different colors and fonts or even place pictures in window caption.

CaptionX was designed specially for Visual Basic 6 forms as an ActiveX control invisible at run-time. It is based on intercepting window nonclient area messages of VB forms package and can not be used with other types of forms which support ActiveX controls (.NET Windows Forms, UserForms in VBA in MS Word and Excel and so on).

All you need to do to display your own icons with CaptionX is to link this control to an image list with the ImageList property and define caption icons using the Add method of the Icons collection. CaptionX event and object model allows you to implement a lot of tasks. For instance, you can display your own tips for caption icons in window status bar or highlight them when the user moves the pointer over them using the MouseEnter event. The Click event can be used to change an icon glyph; in this case the code may look like the following:

What's New in v1.7?

[Change] The ability to implement drag-n-drop operations with several selected cells or rows in iGrid.NET is the main change in this release of the control. In the previous versions of the control in a multi-selection mode iGrid.NET changed the selection just after the left mouse button was pressed over: a cell which was previously selected when the Ctrl key was pressed in the multi-extended mode; a cell which was previously selected in the multi-simple mode. This behavior put obstacles when you wanted to implement drag-n-drop functionality because when the user pressed the left mouse button over a cell with the aim of dragging, iGrid.NET changed the selection, and you could not prevent it as you did not know whether the user had pressed the mouse button in order to change the selection or to drag the cell (you would know it only when the user would move the mouse pointer with the left mouse button pressed or would release the button). Now in these cases selection is changed only after the mouse button is released. A new DoDefault parameter was also added to the CellMouseUp event. This parameter allows you to prevent a cell from being selected in the cases described above. [New] A new event StartDragCell was added. This event allows you to determine the moment when cell dragging should be started. Handle this event if you want to implement a drag-and-drop operation and start dragging when it is raised. A new property named StartDragCellDelta allows you specify the distance the mouse pointer should move with a mouse button pressed before dragging is started. [New] A new FitColWidths property was added to the iGPrintManager class. This property allows you to fit the widths of all the columns to the width of the page when printing. The iGrid cell style object is an object that stores all parameters of cell formatting. You can apply this object to independent cells in the same or different columns, or format the entire column with it in one statement. Moreover, if you use a cell style object, you can reformat all the cells which have this style simply by changing the properties of the style object. The vast majority of iGrid's settings can be done at design-time - you can populate and format the entire grid practically the way you need in Visual Studio IDE before you compile and launch your project. Cell styles can be used at design-time as well, and they allow you to significantly simplify your adjusting effort as you can apply desired cell styles to required cells, change the properties of these cell styles in the Property Editor and see the effect immediately! iGrid.NET also fully supports right-to-left mode (for such languages as Hebrew or Arabic). To put iGrid in this mode, you simply set its RightToLeft property to True. In this case, iGrid.NET displays columns from right to left starting at the right edge, puts the vertical scroll bar at its left edge and makes other changes in its interface required for proper working in right-to-left environment. In iGrid.NET you can control the scroll bars as never before. You can force iGrid's scroll bars to become visible at any time (even if the grid does not require them) or hide each scroll bar independently, the scroll bars can be semi-transparent, and, finally, you can add your own buttons to iGrid's scroll bars and perform your own actions when the user clicks these buttons.

iGrid ActiveX Control

iGrid ActiveX control is a grid control that allows you to edit its cells using built-in editors and can emulate the Outlook messages list. The highly optimized flicker-free display code makes this grid draw fast while it allows more sophisticated displays to be set up. It is also a good replacement for a ListView in report mode.
iGrid implements many useful features - multicolumn sorting, custom draw cells, saving and restoring its layout, own Memory Manager. Each cell of the grid can be formatted separately from other cells in the grid and even from the cells of the same column. Developers can use format strings, format flags (horizontal and vertical alignment, ellipsis at the end or at the middle of the cell text, if necessary, so that the result fits in the cell rectangle, prefix characters ("&") in the cell text, etc). After expiration however, you will no longer be able to download new subscription updates, receive new products, or new version releases until your subscription is renewed. Subscriptions must be renewed annually by the customer before the expiration date of the subscription. If the customer renews the subscription package before the expiration date, they are eligible for subscription renewal pricing. Should you fail to renew the subscription package before the expiration date and wish to continue the program, you must order the package as a new customer.
